ARCHITECTURAL WOOD COLUMNS
– CUSTOM COLUMN SIZING –
MATERIAL & MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Composed of paint-grade, finger-jointed poplar or equal. If you desire another
wood species, please inform us, and it would be our pleasure to accomodate.
Each column is made to your exact specifications in order to produce magnificent
exterior wood columns as well as architectural interior wood columns for your
residential project or commercial construction. Our Art Deco Wood Columns are
perfect for both interior projects and exterior projects, as they showcase a
simple, yet elegant style which adds a touch of modernism to the classical realm.
COLUMN SHAFT
Plain, Non-Tapered column shaft. The Art Deco Non-Tapered wood
column shaft provides a harmonious transition from the mirror-image
capital and base molding. And the column shaft's smooth design further
enhances the Art Deco's matchless beauty and superb styling. Our Art
Deco Column is also available with a tapered column shaft. Select, also,
from our distinct column design shapes to match your interior or exterior
architectural specifications. We use Western Red Cedar, Clear Heart Redwood,
pine, poplar, mahogany, teak or any other wood species desired. Wood materials
are available in both solid board and finger-joint form. We recommend
using either finger-joint redwood or cedar for interior columns that will be stained
or left natural with a clear protective finish to display the grain of the wood.
CAPITAL & BASE MOLDING
CAPITAL: Design 180 is characterized by an Art Deco capital. Standard
materials are polyurethane for the smaller column sizes and fiberglass for the
larger column sizes. Load-bearing qualities. Also, a variety of decorative capitals
may be applied to this Art Deco column to add ornate characteristics. Wood
capitals are available for all sizes at an upcharge. We are able to replicate for
historic restoration if you have as much as a quarter of the existing capital
including corner and any side design. Please contact a Chadsworth Sales
Consultant for additional capital materials and information.
BASE MOLDING: Design 180 includes a mirror-image base to that of its
capital counterpart. Base materials follow the same parameters as the capitals.
