1. SYSTEM SIZE REQUIREMENTS
– Height requirements: 36" or 42", commercial or residential
– Spacing requirements: 4" sphere between balusters or decorative
– Small system, medium, or very wide: 7-1/2" standard system
2. STYLE REQUIREMENTS: BALUSTER
– Round or square belly on baluster
– Round or square plinth on baluster
– Wide baluster, tall baluster, thin baluster, short baluster
3. RAILS
– Straight section or radius rail: tighter radius' may require mold charge
– Radius twist required for radius stair sections
– Templates required for radius rails in addition to dimensions
– Spans: some rails span up to 20' while others do not
– Rails can be ordered in 1' increments
– Each section of top and bottom rail, regardless of length, needs 8 pins
– A spacer for drainage is needed for every 3 feet of rail
4. POSTS
– Recessed panel posts or plain: check availability
– Posts can have certain sides paneled and other sides plain
– Wide or standard posts
– Use taller posts at bottom of stair sections
– Post installation hardware sold separately as are post caps
