RAFTERS, BEAMS & PURLINS:
Composed of Structural Pultruded Fiberglass – The Rafters, beams, and purlins are made using a pultrusion manufacturing process. Raw materials (a liquid resin mixture containing polyester resin, fillers and specialized additives) are pulled into reinforcing fiberglass through a heated steel forming die (mold) using a continuous pulling device. As the reinforcements are saturated with the resin mixture ("wet out") in the resin impregnator and pulled through the die, the gelation (or hardening) of the resin is initiated by the heat from the die and a rigid, cured profile is formed that corresponds to the shape of the die.
COLUMNS:
Chadsworth’s award winning PolyStone® (FRP - Fiberglass) Columns are composed of polyester resin, fiberglass & marble dust. They are weather proof, insect proof and highly durable in exterior use. Decorative capitals and bases are made from the same material as the shaft and side over the shaft without affecting the height of the column. All full round PolyStone® columns are load-bearing with the 12” diameter by 8-ft column rated at 18,000 pounds of compressive load. We also offer columns in the following materials: Fiberglass, Classic Stone (Pre-finished/Textured) & PVC.
