Classically, Roman Doric columns are a modification of the distinct Greek Doric column
design. During the Roman Renaissance period, the Doric column transformed its style
to include a base with molding and a plinth – as opposed to the Greek Doric column,
which had no base or plinth. The integration of the column base for the Doric column
led to variations in the base style, and this page offers dimensions, specifications, load-bearing
